Ahmad Khaknegar (1943, Teheran, Iran) studied pedagogy and philosophy at the University of Tehran. After his arrest, imprisonment and release and a professional ban Khaknegar decided to devote himself to the art. His first exhibition took place in 1973. His last exhibition in Iran was at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tehran. The political and cultural cleansing by the Islamic regime made Khaknegar go in exile in 1985. Since then he has been living and working in the Netherlands. In 2003, Khaknegar was diagnosed with cancer and he tries to remain on top of it. This exhibition is a tribute to him and his work.
